**GENERAL OVERVIEW:** This job, under the direction of the Manager
Network Director of Infection Prevention is a position responsible
for implementing supporting hospital-wide infection prevention
programs while ensuring compliance with the mandates of required
accrediting and regulatory agencies. **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Performs routine surveillance for healthcare associated
infections. + Provide educational in-services and materials for
patients, visitors, and healthcare workers. + Assure hospital
compliance with regulatory, safety, and infection control
standards. + Identify and monitor patients requiring isolation
precautions to ensure appropriate precautions are used. Recognize
possible epidemiological exposures and provides appropriate
follow-up. + Maintains interdepartmental communications with all
hospital areas regarding infection control issues. + Maintains
self-education regarding infection control standards and the Joint
Commission and DOH regulations. + Other duties as assigned or
requested. **QUALIFICATIONS:** Minimum + Associate's Degree in
Epidemiology, Microbiology, Medical Technology, Public Health or
Nursing + 3 years of Clinical experience in a hospital or related
setting or disease surveillance experience in a public health
setting + Certification in Infection Prevention and Control within
2 years of hire date Preferred + Bachelor's Degree in Medical
Technology, Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing or Related Health
Sciences Field + RN License + American Society of Clinical
Pathologist certification in Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS),
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Microbiology, or Microbiology
