$1500 sign-on bonus! ($500 at 90 days, $500 at 6 months, $500 at 1 year)

POSITION SUMMARY: Works under the supervision of the Residential Manager. Performs administrative and direct care responsibilities for the assigned program. Serves as Team Leader in the provision of care and support services for people with intellectual disabilities, autism and/or challenging behaviors; which aims to maximize the potential of individuals.

To be primary point of contact for the home in absence of the Home Manager.

  • Leads by setting a good example (role model) - behavior consistent with words
  • Serves as a primary mentor and trainer. Supports new team members in working through probationary orientation; ensure that they have the necessary knowledge to effectively participate on the team and support residents.

  • Coordinates coverage on a day to day basis
  • Recognizes and celebrate team & individual accomplishments & exceptional performance.
  • Contributes to staff appraisals & supervision process
  • File reportable events
  • Ensures daily documentation and goals are completed as required in Person Centered Plans or Behavior Support Plans, and ISP.
  • Collects and organizes monthly paperwork.
  • Attends regular meetings as directed by management.
  • Maintains overview of daily records, incident logs and all other daily documentation to include vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensures maintenance of house environment (completing monthly health and safety check list and creating work orders when necessary.
  • Keeps the management team informed of accomplishments & ongoing issues; participate in achieving resolutions to identified issues.
  • Acts in the best interests of the organization and those for whom it provides care.
  • Maintains quality and standards of the organization in all areas of responsibility.
  • Participates in the on-call rotation roughly every 18 weeks with back up from your Residential Manager, Associate Director and Director. Team leaders are hourly they only get the on-call stipend unless they must come into work. If they come into work, they must be paid hourly.


    • Undertakes expected working hours as indicated by company.
    • Assists in the implementation of the philosophies and policies of the company
    • Ensures that each resident has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning.
    • Reviews and monitor care plans.
    • Supports and participates in Residents' daily care plans.
    • Monitors all DSP records and supports staff to develop positive working relationships with Residents.
    • Promotes choice and involvement.
    • Ensures all Staff Members work in a way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the rights of people being supported.
    • Applies Behavior Support Plans developed in response to challenging behaviors, and contribute to the review and development of any such strategies.
    • Encourages and enables Residents to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.
    • Coordinates with other agencies/professionals as necessary in conjunction with Managers.
    • Records information about Residents and ensures communication with Staff Members.
    • Administers medication in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and ensures that medical emergencies are dealt with appropriately. Adheres to the Company's medication policy at all times.
    • Ensure that Residents' personal property, bedroom and clothing is maintained to a high standard.
    • Promotes good practice in the team in accordance with ordinary life principles, and in line with all Company policies and procedures.
    • Practices maximum integrity in all dealings with Residents' personal and financial affairs.


      • Must be a minimum of 18 years old, have a high school diploma or the equivalent, have a clean driving record, and pass a criminal-background check.
      • Certification as a Direct Support Professional.
      • Certification as a Certified Residential Medical Aid. (CRMA)
      • Certification in CPR/First Aid
      • Certification in the current physical crisis intervention strategy
      • Computer literacy, must be able to communicate effectively in MS Outlook, email, and clinical software
      • Valid Maine Driver's License
      • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
      • Ability to drive agency vehicle where applicable

        Dress Code:

        Physical Requirements:

        • Must be able to alternate between sitting and standing (transporting/ assisting/supervising individuals) for extended periods of time.
        • Must be able to walk (assisting/accompanying individuals) for extended periods of time.
        • Must be able to frequently climb, stoop, or kneel during individual transfers and performance of personal care.
        • Must be able to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, or 25% of body weight (whichever is less), without assistance.
        • Must be able to work independently at various agency and community sites.
