Job Description:

Efficiently plan and perform an extensive range of operations such as threading, boring, turning, grinding, drilling, tapping, milling and similar machining operations on a variety of materials such as cast, forged, steel, aluminum, etc. Machine parts such as cams, gears, side plates, keys, hubs, bearing block, rollers, etc. Use the required precision measuring instruments, drawings, specifications, charts and schedules. Follow written and verbal instructions. Perform both repetitive and non-repetitive operations, the latter requiring extensive judgment in set ups and sequence of machining. Set up and operate an extensive array of CNC and manual machine tools including but not limited to lathes, drills, horizontal and vertical milling machines, and cylindrical and surface grinders. Use shims, blocks, clamps, braces, adaptors, steady rests, parallels and supports to prevent slippage, spring distortion and breakage. Use jigs and fixtures, vise, rotary table, dividing head, chucks, collets, face plates and adaptors as required. Locate work on machine table, indicate work to secure squareness, parallelism and concentricity. Review, write and revise CNC programs as needed to produce quality parts. Check and inspect work with precision measuring instruments. Adjust, correct, select speeds and feeds within limits accordingly to material and finish requirements. Hold close tolerances on co-related dimensions. Assist in the training of other personnel to improve technical proficiency and safety. Exercise care to prevent damage, waste or scrap maintaining both quality and quantity standards. Keep the required records. Make the necessary calculations.Detect incorrect drawings, faulty operations, and defective material. Refer questionable cases to the supervisor. Maintain the area, tools and equipment in the proper manner. Must possess quality tools to meet and perform job requirements. Follow standard safety regulations. High School or Vocational School graduate or equivalency preferred Six months plus experience in a manufacturing setting preferred Ability to operate production machinery, equipment and tools Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions Willingness to assist in training of other production staff Ability to work with minimal supervision Capability of standing for long periods of time Ability to lift 50 lbs intermittently and 100 lbs in team lift situation Capability of repetitive bending, reaching, stretching, lifting, twisting, pushing and pullingPDN-990b163c-e2d3-465a-aa76-ed7719f27a8e
