Signal Analyst Trainee is the entry-level position for the Signal
Analyst Team. The Signal Analyst Trainee applies diverse
information from IMCORP's field tests of underground power cables
to assess power cable reliability. Through the Signal Analyst
certification program, the Signal Analyst Trainee uses quantitative
and critical thinking skills to develop the competency to analyze
signal data, meet quality/productivity standards, and support
Signal Analysis Team goals.REQUIREMENTS
- High school degree or equivalent
- A.S. or B.S. in engineering, engineering technology,
mathematics, physics or related area strongly preferred
- Intermediate-level skill in the use of diverse, data-oriented
computer applications
- Ability to learn new computer applications
- Ability to learn and apply technical/engineering concepts
- Visual analysis and pattern recognition skills
- Ability to manipulate numbers, perform numerical calculation
and use numerical formulas
- Ability to understand concepts derived from numbers; interpret
numerical information; predict trends based on numerical data
- Hypothesis generation and root-cause analysis skills
- Discipline in adherence to technical and administrative
procedures/guidelines
- Verbal communication and comprehension skills relative to
numerical, graphical and engineering data

- Develop competencies to successfully complete Signal Analyst 1
Certification training
- Shadow and practice analysis
- Apply Signal Data Analysis rules and guidelines with guidance
from certified Signal Analysis team members
- Comply with administrative and technical procedures
- Collaborate with Signal Data Analysis Team members in meeting
team goals
- Generate and conceptually test hypotheses
- Research as appropriate
- Resolve discrepancies and omissions among diverse sources of
data
- Review supplemental field test information
- Submit analysis results for review prior to report
generation
- Meet productivity, quality and turnaround standards
