Job descriptionThe Medical Accounts Receivable Analyst is responsible for insurance follow up for zero paid, underpaid, overpaid and denied insurance claims. This position requires contacting various insurance companies to determine root cause of claim balances via phone, website, or appeals. Works with various departments as needed to resolve outstanding claims. Review, Appeal or request Claim Reprocessing/ Reconsiderations to represent correct processing of insurance claims. Knowledge of timely filing deadlines for each designated payer.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read, interpret and comprehend insurance payment Remittance Advice/ Explanation of Benefits
  • Review, appeal, or request claim reprocessing to represent correct processing of insurance claims.
  • Contact insurance companies regarding claim processing and determining reason for payment delinquency or claim denial.
  • Prioritizes and organizes own work to meet deadlines.
  • Answer patient calls relating to questions about their bills
  • Ability to analyze, identify and resolve issues causing payer payment delays, identify and trend claims issues to proactively reduce denials.
  • Understanding of under payments and credit balance process
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain a professional attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned by the management teamESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
    • Two (2) year college degree preferred but not required
    • Two (2) years' experience in a medical account receivable role such as Accounts Receivable Representative
    • Ability to handle high volume of claims and meet deadlines
    • Experience with Excel
    • Ability to navigate multiple EMRs and Billing systems
    • Analytical skills to identify trends
    • Working knowledge of medical, accounts receivable, collections, rejects, denials, appeals, and research billing guidelines and policies
    • Working knowledge of various reimbursement methodologies, including reimbursement reductions, fee schedule calculations and comparisons, and review of claims for correct payment
    • Extremely organized and detail orientedJob Type: Full-timePay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:
