Logistics Site Manager/Deputy Site Lead OCONUSat SMX(View all jobs) ( StatesSMX is seeking an OCONUS Logistics Site Manager/Deputy Site Lead to support our customers aviation logistics support efforts within the AFRICOM AOR. The ideal candidate will support the day-to-day deployed aviation operations on the ARIES contract, including leading logistics coordination with our deployed personnel (SMX and subcontractors), local life support facilitation, etc. and serves as a liaison with on-site government points of contact This position requires OCONUS deployed/on-site work at two customer sites on the African continentAs the SMX OCONUS Logistics Site Manager/Deputy Site Lead you will report to the SMX Logistics Management Lead, with a fully supporting relationship under the SMX Site Lead you will be coordinating all onsite logistics management and inventory activities with a focus on 100% accountability, while building strong employee connections with diverse team of contractors and military/civilian personnel.The ideal candidate will have a strong logistics and communications background with a focus on accuracy, continuous improvement, problem solving, and innovation You will assist the SMX Site Lead as needed with on-site communications and programs with a focus on building strong employee connections with diverse team of contractors and military/civilian personnel. You will also have a strong communications and project management background with demonstrated leadership experience including continuous improvement, problem solving, and innovation.In addition, this role requires a well-developed interpersonal relationship skillset to meticulously manage Government Furnished Property/subcontractor logistics efforts and provide appropriate liaison between various supported/supporting leadership at the deployed sites and subcontractors.This is a deployment rotational position (90 days on, 90 days off) located at three sites in Africa.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform as the ARIES Logistic Management Leads point of contact for all GFP/GFE/CAP onsite for the ARIES Task Order the Single Point of Contact for all material/GFE needs at the respective site
  • Act as Deputy Site Lead in accomplishing all Prime Site Lead responsibilities under the guidance/direction of the primary deployed Site Lead
  • Coordinate day-to-day logistics operations, tracking and performance
  • Manage supply systems, support services and vendors providing services and materials
  • Maintain and improve upon SMX material marking efforts, including appropriate bar-code maintenance, and associated classified-capable scanners
  • Responsible for managing complete inventory of Government Furnished Property (GFP), to include set-up, as required, for in-person AFRICOM assessments
  • Regularly communicate with the ARIES Logistic Management Lead and fellow SMX OCONUS Logistics Site Managers/Deputy Site Leads to ensure complete picture of asset management procedures, process improvements, challenges, and issue resolution
  • Work closely as the SMX Site Leads Deputy to ensure seamless cross-functional operations at respective sites, and as needed, provide additional leadership expertise/assistance to the SMX Site Lead (under his/her direction), to include:
  • Oversee day-to-day team operation and performance to include outward interface with military Command authorities as Deputy Site Lead acting in concert with Site Lead guidance/inputs
  • Provide robust communication of activities, challenges, and recommended solutions with deployed teams and stateside program leadership
  • Create a healthy and motivating work environment
  • Assist with project assignments and activities
  • Manage personnel, supply systems, support services and subcontractors and vendors providing services and materials
  • Optimize operating results in terms of cost, methods, personnel and implements quality assurance, program directives
  • Administer compliance with quality and safety/environmental standards
  • Provide robust communication of activities, challenges, and recommended solutions with deployed teams and stateside program leadership*Required Skills & Education*
    • Required Clearance: Secret
    • Able to obtain a DOD Command Access Card (CAC)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated effective organizational and leadership skills
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights and weekends, as needed while deployed) to support the ARIES property management program
    • Ability to stand for long periods and lift to 30 pounds
    • Skilled in operations, logistics, and resource management
    • Excellent leadership, decision-making, verbal/written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a remotely deployed, subcontractor logistics team in a challenging and fast-paced environment
    • Ability to operate cross-functionally to support other SMX operations and functions
    • Knowledge of configuration management, quality assurance, integrated logistics, engineering, warehousing, materiel management, and maintenance activities*Desired Skills & Education*
      • Experience with DIOGENES or other web-based asset/property management systems
      • Experience working with subcontractors in a Department of Defense environment
      • Demonstrated Experience/previous responsibilities as Military Logistician/SNCO or Officer within Special Operations or deployed warfighting units where asset accountability including repair, distribution, shipping/receiving and controlled cryptological equipment inventory were of utmost importance is HIGHLY desired
      • Experience with DIOGENES asset management or similar logistics management software*Required Experience & Education*
        • Valid US passport
        • Valid stateside drivers license
        • High School diploma required, AA or BA/BS preferred
        • Prior experience deploying to OCONUS locations either as military or contractor
