Desktop Services AnalystState of Connecticut Judicial Branch Glastonbury The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Court Support Services Division is seeking a Desktop Services Analyst (Information Technology Analyst I) for the Computer Support, Facilities & Materials Management Unit (COSFAMM). Qualified applicants will possess experience in the specific functional area of Desktop Services. Preferred candidates must be able to diagnose and resolve PC and desktop software needs using a variety of diagnostic tools to identify hardware and/or software issues and initiate repairs; rebuild PCs and reconfigure user specific settings; install new software releases of routine nature; coordinate installation, modification and maintenance of network components; assist in implementation of network and/or system hardware and software upgrades and/or enhancements; configure and install terminal emulation software for host connection.The incumbent will use routine interpersonal and technical skills to perform and/or participate in the following: assist in diagnosing system problems and developing and coordinating resolutions; perform installation and implementation of new and existing technologies; assist in the evaluation of new technologies; test and evaluate new hardware and/or software; may assist in making recommendations for hardware and/or software purchases; assist in determining interface and utility requirements and use design specifications; may act as a liaison to hardware and/or software vendors, developers, and management; arrange necessary hardware and software availability; may assist in implementing network and system security guidelines; assist in executing specific disaster recovery plans; may assist in making recommendations for migration and upgrade directions; may train business or technical staff on new procedures; assist in conducting system performance analysis, tuning or storage management; may conduct technical training programs for IT staff; may communicate with business owners and management; may assist in development of current and future information technology policies, procedures and standards; perform and/or assist in the preparation of correspondence, manuals, business intelligence reporting and documentation as required; produce status reports; support production applications and environments as required; perform related duties as required.In addition to the preferred qualifications, the successful candidate will receive on the job training to build, configure, deploy & support laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, printers, copiers & more. The selected candidate will utilize automated systems when building devices and work with members of the COSFAMM unit to support staff. The selected candidate will be responsible for inventory records & documentation, training staff on how to use technology, providing technology to support staff around the state & more. Travel is required.Preference will be provided to qualified candidates who possess proficiency with:Microsoft WindowsMicrosoft OfficeNetworkingVideo Conferencing Upon hire, hybrid remote work may be available. Salary Range: $79,949 - $108,796/year - plus State of Connecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING General Experience: Four (4) years of experience in information technology (IT), programming, systems/software development or another IT related field with a concentration in the specific area of the position being applied for. Substitutions Allowed: 1) College training in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering or related area may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling six (6) months of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.2) A Master's degree in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering or related area may be substituted for the General Experience.3) Relevant certification in management information systems, computer science, electrical engineering, project management or related area may be substituted for up to six (6) months of the general experience.
