Job Description:
Our food manufacturing client is currently seeking a Maintenance
Supervisor for their plant in VT.
They are looking for someone who has experience in food
manufacturing and dairy equipment would be ideal. The purpose of
this role is to effectively interface with operations and other
departments while directing a maintenance staff to efficiently
execute the operational schedule as well as emergent repairs
required within a 24-hour window.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Oversee and provide daily guidance to maintenance staffCreate an
environment that empowers employees to drive system improvements
and perform reliability centered maintenanceFacilitate
inter-departmental communication regarding equipment reliability
and schedule coordinationResponsible for coordinating with
Production Planning on machine availabilityInterfaces with the
Plant Engineer to drive details of work orders and projects.
Collects information and organizes, plans, schedules and reviews it
according to the processes and procedures defined in the Asset
Reliability ModelManages Planning information in CMMSManages SAP
implementation, process integration and daily tasksDetermines need
for special tools and equipment and arranges their scheduling for
the job.Estimates prep work and job labor requirementsResponsible
for the accuracy of cross-referencing Bill of Materials (part
numbers, vendor information, descriptions, etc.)Administration of
work order systems including managing backlog, providing
appropriate status on items, and strategically working through
backlog planningIs responsible for department shift schedules and
time and attendance managementServe as first point of contact for
emergency maintenance requestsEnsure maintenance staff compliance
to company policies and proceduresManage employee's performance
through establishing expectations, holding people accountable and
developing the understanding of the sense of urgency.Support
maintenance KPI'sEnsure that all maintenance tasks are properly
completed as assignedPrioritize work for the team including
emergencies, PM's, and general maintenance activitiesAssist in
developing procedures and policies for maintenance departmentEnsure
safe work practices and a safe work environmentConduct team and
individual skills gap analysis and facilitate the development and
execution of training plans for maintenance staffSupport work for
proper root cause analysis on breakdowns or failures to ensure
equipment breakdown issues are addressed and resolvedWork with the
Supply Clerk to support emergent requirementsDevelop and improve
upon existing maintenance work processesAttend required training,
including but not limited to GMP's, HAACP, SQF, Safety, etc.Follow
all company GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all
corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation
requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED5 years' experience in food or processing
maintenanceDemonstrated leadership skills, formal team lead
experience, or supervisory experienceCertificate and/or License -
electrical, welding, boiler, refrigeration, wastewater, or plumbing
licenses or certificates are a plusAble to lead and manage direct
reportsProficiency with MS Office suiteSAP proficiencyFamiliarity
with maintenance CMMS systemsMust have good communication skills
and an ability to delegate responsibilitiesMust be able to read,
write and speak English
