A leading paper manufacturing company in Calais, Maine is seeking a
skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to support and enhance
operations at our facility. This role requires a technically
proficient professional to manage both current and future
electrical and control systems, ensuring maximum efficiency,
safety, and reliability in a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and support for all electrical and
control systems within the facility
- Design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems
including a 50 MW power distribution system, steam turbine
generators, and hydro generators
- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex electrical and
control system issues
- Maintain detailed electrical documentation, data records, and
schematics
- Work collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams while
also managing tasks independently
- Oversee project development from planning through execution
- Recommend and implement new technologies to enhance operational
performance
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD
- In-depth knowledge of AC & DC drives and drive systems
- Experience with PLCs, DCS systems, and industrial networking
- Strong understanding of switchgear, motor controls, protective
relaying, and power systems
- Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley, Reliance, Foxboro, and
Honeywell (especially Honeywell TDC3000) equipment
- Effective multitasking and time management skills in a fast-paced
environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
or as part of a team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical
Engineering Technology
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in an industrial or
manufacturing setting
- Demonstrated success in electrical design, troubleshooting,
system modifications, and project management
- Willingness to travel occasionally as needed
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with
operational procedures
