The Position: The Electrician contributes to the electrical services team by efficiently maintaining electrical equipment, lighting equipment and fire alarm systems following accepted procedures and techniques of the electrical trade. Collaborates on environmental sustainability initiatives and champion socially conscious behavior. Potential to be considered Essential Personnel when the need arises; report to or remain at work if instructed to do so. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Technical/vocational school electrical education preferred. Journeymans Electrical License required, Masters License preferred. 4 years experience in the electrical field is required. Knowledge of National Electric Codes. Knowledge of methods, tools and hazards of the trade (NFPA-70E, NFPA-101, and L.O.T.O). Ability to inspect equipment and systems, determine malfunction and make necessary repairs. Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting is preferred. Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships. Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as a strong customer focus. A strict adherence to confidential policies is required. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Possess basic computer skills. Willingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed. High degree of organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and multi-task with accuracy. Ability to follow verbal and written directions, maintain a professional demeanor and restraint at all times, including stressful situations.
