Sales Manager Best Ford is looking for someone to help bring our market share to the next level. Candidate must have prior proven success in market share increase. We are looking for a seasoned sales manager ready to join our growing team. POSITION INFORMATIONThe Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the GM in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the Sales Department and in measuring the performance of the employees in the department.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Make a monthly projection of the vehicle requirements for the immediate 90-day sales period. Determine monthly and yearly forecasts in terms of unit sales, gross profit objectives, and departmental profits. Forecast monthly with each floor closer to establish objectives in terms of the number and type of customers coming into the dealership, closing percentages in each category, time utilization, prospecting efforts, unit sales, and projected income. Recommend to the GM procedures for short-and long-range advertising, sales promotions, staffing needs, lease promotions, compensation plans, customer complaints, salespersons' evaluations. Meet with each salesperson as early as possible every day to review yesterday's results and today's plan of action. (Ten-minute meeting) Conduct sales meetings. Facilitate pre-delivery with the Service Manager. Ensure salespersons are performing on-the-job training. Ensure that salespeople follow an established prospecting program to obtain optimum results. Review monthly commission sheets, productivity reports, salespeople's' monthly forecasts, and profit performance with the GM by salesperson and as a department. Maintain a balanced vehicle inventory and establish a program for moving units in inventory over 150 days. Require that standards are maintained for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining units. Ensure that salespeople maintain a 100-percent turnover to the Business Manager. Ensure that every prospect is thanked personally by mgr. Keep an accurate count of floor traffic - ensure closer is having salesperson log every prospect.Management-related: Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them. Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments. Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the new car sales department. Attend managers' meetings. Assist the GM in forecasting controllable expense elements for the new car department. Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect new car sales.Personnel-related: Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all sales employees. Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees. Oversee the efforts of salespeople to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership. Communicate with salespeople to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed. Monitor salespeople's' payroll records. Set sales and gross objectives for salespeople. Guide all salespeople in setting their objectives on a short- and long-range basis. Review all salespeople's' performance as shown on the Daily Sales Operating Control. Assist in developing programs of improvement for those salespeople who are failing to reach their objectives. Recommend for dismissal any salesperson failing to meet company standards.Customer- and Department-related and Other: Recommend to the GM the inventory to be carried by color, model, and equipment, based on a variety of customer and market analyses. Develop, implement, and monitor the use of a prospecting program. Maintain standards for the delivery of vehicles to customers. Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.Must have minimum of 2 years new franchised experience to be considered.
