Job Description:

Clean Harbors is seeking a dedicated Line/Boom Technician to join our Marine Services team, carrying out critical operations at sea and in our coastal facilities. The role involves the handling and management of booms and other barriers used to contain spills and protect marine environments. Deploy, operate, and maintain containment booms and other barriers during spill response operations. Monitor and adjust the placement of booms in response to tides, currents, and other environmental factors. Participate in emergency response drills and actual spill response operations as necessary. Inspect and repair boom equipment, ensuring all components meet safety and quality standards. Coordinate with marine logistics and other teams to ensure effective placement and recovery of environmental protection equipment. Maintain accurate records of deployments, inspections, and maintenance of equipment. Train new staff on proper boom handling and maintenance procedures. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to handle heavy equipment Proficiency in using marine navigation and communication tools Ability to work in diverse weather conditions and demanding physical environments Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations pertaining to maritime operations Effective communication and teamwork skills Medical Insurance 401k OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certification Maritime Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card) Boat handling and safety certifications First Aid and CPR certifications
