Job Description:
Join our dedicated team at Pioneer Valley Equine Associates,
where we provide exceptional, compassionate veterinary care
tailored specifically to horses. We are looking for a motivated and
skilled Veterinary Technician who will assist in delivering
holistic and comprehensive medical services across Western
Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will be integral to our mission
of maintaining and improving equine health through preventive care,
diagnostic services, and treatment. Our practice values a
team-oriented approach and seeks professionals eager to contribute
to our supportive and expert veterinary service. Assist
veterinarians in the examination and treatment of horses including
but not limited to collecting samples, administering medications,
and performing diagnostics tests. Provide nursing care and
emergency first aid to horses as needed. Maintain clear and
detailed medical records of all animal procedures and interactions.
Educate horse owners on preventive healthcare and condition
management. Assist in surgical procedures and provide
post-operative care. Handle, restrain, and manage horses during
veterinary procedures in a way that ensures the safety of the
animal, the staff, and themselves. Prepare instruments and
equipment for veterinarians during exams and procedures. Strong
knowledge of equine behavior and health. Experience with emergency
first-aid and surgical support for horses. Proficiency in using
veterinary medical equipment. Exceptional communication and
interpersonal skills, capable of explaining treatment plans and
recommendations to horse owners. Ability to work effectively in
fast-paced, stressful situations. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Veterinary
Technician (CVT) preferred. License to practice in Massachusetts or
eligible for licensure.
