Job description:
This position is for a Supply Chain Operations Support (SOS)
Analyst role to lead the charge in improving the operation
performance of suppliers. There are no limits to the level of
engagement within Suppliers or Collins to plan and execute actions
to eliminate hardware delivery & quality situations. This position
works with some supervision to achieve day-to-day objectives
impacting Power & Controls supply chain strategies and operational
goals. Every supplier situation requires specialized engagement
with Collins colleagues, the SOS associate coordinates support from
non-supply chain functional groups on a regular basis. The SOS
associate assesses supplier risks, and develops & analyzes key
performance indicators to drive short term and long term
improvements in collaboration with suppliers and Collins Leadership
& Colleagues.
Primary Responsibilities:Works with suppliers' internal teams to
coordinate procurement and shipment of supplies to customer
requirements.Provides inputs based on issues faced in day-to-day
operations; Executes initiatives to improve operationsAssesses
supplier quali---cations including training and certi---cations and
devise corrective action plans for improved performance and/or
overcome any de---ciencies.Monitors supplier performance and
applies sustainable countermeasures to facilitate
improvement.Collaborates with suppliers to identify and remove
barriers to the implementation of Continuous Improvement projects
to improve on-time delivery and quality.In coordination with
Collins Buyer, contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite
deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and
missed or late deliveries.Regularly presents supplier performance
actions and results to stakeholders.Performs supply chain
activities that cannot be attributed to a de---ned
discipline.Conducts on-site and remote assessments with the buyers,
industrial, regional performance team, quality, and engineering
teams to drive supplier improvement.Resolves general queries from
internal and external stakeholders.Supports one or more Supply
Chain disciplines in implementations and process
execution.Contributes to changes or enhancements to supply chain
management processes and systems.Adheres to import, export, and
procurement regulations as per compliance.This role requires 50%
travel
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and less than 2 years of
relevant experience ORIn absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant
experience is requiredMust be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:Previous Contracts, Supply Chain or
Procurement experience/related experience working in the Aerospace
Industry or directly for Collins AerospaceProject/program
ManagementExperience developing suppliers and supplier
relationshipsKnowledge of supply chain management in the Aerospace
organizationAbility to lead in a collaborative, matrixed team
environmentLEAN/Continuous improvement experience for 1+
yearsAwareness of engineering and quality processesAwareness of
manufacturing processes (castings, forgings, machining, assembly,
welding)
